This early 1900’s craftsman home in North Portland received a full-property makeover for year-round enjoyment. To accommodate the homeowners in the Pacific Northwest’s four seasons, Habitat Gardens designed two covered structures.

The attached pergola features a beautiful ipe deck for enjoying breakfast and lunch protected from the strong southern exposure. The free-standing pergola covers a hot tub and lounge area for evening gatherings. As an interesting alternative to grass, the lawn is a mix of ground covering plants. Rain gardens featuring colorful, all-season, pollinator-friendly, native plants solved their stormwater management challenges.
