Mandi Hoyt-McBeth, Owner, Landscape Contractor and Designer
Owner Mandi built Habitat Gardens with a unique vision and a dedication to urban gardening and natural wildlife habitats. A landscape designer and certified landscape contractor, Mandi has the plant knowledge and installation experience needed to bring clients’ dreams to life. Mandi and her seasoned crew solve landscape challenges artistically.
A desire to work outdoors with plants led the shift her first career in non-profit fundraising to landscape design. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in environmental studies from Iowa State University.
Justin Timmers, Installation Manager
As the project manager for Habitat Gardens, Justin leads the charge, turning well-planned designs into beautiful, functional landscapes. He’s highly skilled in construction, irrigation, and landscape installation. Before moving to Oregon, Justin owned and operated a Community-supported Agriculture (CSA) business in Wisconsin. He takes great pride in the quality of work they do and the company’s respect for nature and wildlife.
“A big thing that keeps me happy and adds to the aesthetic is we’re creating landscapes that aren’t just for humans. They look beautiful because they incorporate what you’d see in nature, in the woods.”
Whitney Salas, Designer | Project Manager
Whitney’s affection for the outdoors, desire to work with plants, and intrinsic artistic talents led to her landscape design career. She first got a bachelor’s degree in biology with a focus on botany from Portland State University. Then she studied landscape design at Portland Community College. She brings passion, creativity, and a sharp eye to Habitat Gardens’ projects.

Cody Manka, Crew Member
Cody has great experience in laborer positions and has several years in the landscaping industry installing a variety of different components of the design. Coming from Nebraska, Cody’s strong work ethic and mentality to get things done brings efficiency and motivation to the team.
